JP Beukes Jr was born in Volksrust , South Africa (1947) where he spent his youth in this little country town developing his great love for rural Africa and its people.
JP bought his first camera in 1965 and photography, as a hobby, has never left him. Travelling the world and especially the continent of Africa extensively, he captured amazing photos while pursuing his career in the railway-engineering field.
How to capture the perfect picture depends entirely on three things only, he believes: Camera always ready, the right moment and pure luck.
He tries to get his perfect shot by taking multiple photos of the same subject changing camera settings constantly. All his photos are free from photo-shop correction techniques. He doesn’t believe in the manipulation of photos, not as an amateur in any case.
“In my next life I could possibly pursue my present hobby as a career.”
“I never leave my house with out my small Leica camera”
“Too many photographs and now I need to share some of them with others”
“Africa, beautiful Africa”
JP Beukes recently sold out his first print of his first photography book titled “African Wisdom”
