The Wrap Shack will be making delicious food.
I started my career in the food industry 30 years ago, for me it was all about working with people, so I started with waitressing.
Then in 1987 I moved to Cape Town to start work in a very famous and well known restaurant called “BLUES” in camps bay, there I started as a waitress and soon enough was training all their waitrons, after that I was doing 3 different jobs for them that entailed waitering, training and hostessing, I loved every minute of it.
After that I started being very interested in the food side so did a short course at The Prue Leaf academy of food, from there, there was no stopping me, I worked with Pete Goffewood, Master chef SA, doing a short food course at his Kitchen Cowboys academy, then went on to work with him for 4 years, he taught me to think out the box, take an item and see what all you can do with it.
Through him I met and worked with Marco Pier White, Masterchef Australia, chef extraordinaire, from London with several michelain stars.
I am involved with SASSI, South African Sustainable Seafood Industry, we teach and educate people on the sustainability of our precious sea life, I also am able to train restaurant staff from the dishwasher all the way to the chef of the running of a successful restaurant.
My next goal is to continue to do my markets educating people on meat free eating.
Then open up a school to teach children on sustainability, foraging and eating from your own garden, after all they are the future, to take our planet to the next level.
